A Community that Cares

When Samuel and Jessie Kenney envisioned a community to serve people comfortably and securely 'til the end of their days, they never would have dreamed of turning their backs on those who could no longer afford to pay for their care.

Neither can we.

That's why The Kenney Foundation was created.

Many factors can lead to the depletion of financial resources for retirement -- wide-ranging fluctuations in financial markets, miscalculations in planning, financial emergencies, even just living longer than expected. When residents find that their resources have been depleted, the Foundation steps in to help. The Resident Life Care Fund, supported by tax-deductible contributions from caring individuals and families, provides an average of $400,000 a year in support to residents in need.

Just as in any community, here at The Kenney, we help our neighbors. The Foundation makes it possible for anyone to lend a hand when our residents need it the most.

Opportunities to Give

The Resident Life Care Fund: This is our primary tool for providing financial aid to residents who outlive their financial resources. On average The Kenney provides $400,000 in support to residents in need each year. This will only grow as people live longer, healthier lives.

The Kenney Unrestricted Fund: Donations to this general-purpose fund are spent in the current year for the most pressing needs, including financial assistance.

Planned/Legacy Gifts: Planned gifts are a wonderful way to help The Kenney and its residents for years to come, while creating a legacy for you. The Kenney itself was a planned gift – a legacy gift – given to the community by Samuel and Jessie Kenney.

We accept planned gifts through will bequests, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts, pooled income funds and charitable gift annuities. Planned gifts offer numerous ways to save on taxes and, depending on the type of gift, can provide you with increased income.

Memorial Gifts: Any gift to The Kenney can be given “In Memory of” or “In Honor of” a loved one, friend or special occasion.
